Race for Breast Cancer

Yesterday the whole family participated in the Race for Breast Cancer 5K held at Washburn University. Jenn finished...it took a while but she did it. Sydney and I ran the last mile together then went back to find Jenn and her mom to finish out the walk with them. You can find pics of the event here: http://spotted.cjonline.com/pages/gallery.php?gallery=295095. If you look closely, you can find Jenn in some of the pics...

A movie that might be better to avoid if your wife has breast cancer.

The Family Stone. One of the underlying stories in the movie is the fact that the mother of the family has had breast cancer and it has come back, this time being terminal. Cinematically it is pretty well done. It shows the kids as they find out one by one that their mother has less than a year to live. They don't really explain what she has until there is a scene where the mother and father are lying in bed and start to get intimate and they show the scar on the mother from the mastectomy. The setting is at Christmas time but once they get through the Christmas, at the end of the movie they basically come back to the same time next year. Everyone is coming back to the house and it shows what has happened in the past year except one thing is missing...the mother...
